To become a patient of Dr. Joy's your family doctor must refer you to his practice. Since Dr. Joy is a specialist he can only accept patients that have general surgery issues.

Yes, you need an appointment to see Dr. Joy.

What should I expect during my first appointment?

At your first appointment Dr. Joy will take the time to hear your medical history, understand your symptoms that brought you to see him, and ask about your current medications. 
 
After that Dr. Joy will make recommendations for your care plan moving forward and you will decide together what treatment you would like to pursue.

What are your wait times like?

Our wait times are dependant on the severity of the illness of the patient. Once we recieve your referral, Dr. Joy needs to review it, and then we can schedule you for a consultation appointment.  He will assign a triage level to your referral which determines how quickly you will be see.
